Taian Table is an intimate dining venue offering a multi-course tasting menu. An evening at Taian Table is much like attending a private dinner party at a friend’s home, that is, if your friend happened to be a fine dining chef!
Like most dinner parties, the kitchen takes center stage, and where the action happens. Diners are seated around the open kitchen like spectators at the arena, and are encouraged to interact with chefs and staff as they personally introduce each dish to guests.
Be it the chef founder, chef de cuisine, or sommelier, guests are welcome to ask about the dishes, wine pairing, and story behind Taian Table.
The kitchen counter seats up to 20 guests. Additionally, we have two booths that seat four guests each, and our Duval-Leroy Champagne Bar for up to 12 guests on the second floor.
Our restaurant is centrally located on Zhenning Road, near Xinzha Road in Changning District, Shanghai. It’s housed in what used to be a factory, now converted into a creative hub of offices and commercial spaces.
You will receive a detailed address with driving directions in your confirmation email, as well as a telephone number to call in the event that you are unable to find our restaurant.
Generally, our full tasting menu includes 14 courses and costs ¥1,588 per person. However, the menu price and the number of dishes might change according to the season and products used.
Due to the limited number of seats, all guests are required to confirm bookings by paying a deposit of ¥500 per person. Deposit payment methods include WeChat Pay, Alipay and International Credit Cards with Paypal (only for foreign cards).
The balance will be settled after your dinner at the restaurant. Cash, WeChat Pay, Alipay, UnionPay, Visa, and MasterCard accepted.
You are able to cancel or modify your booking up to 2 days prior to your booking date. In case of a cancellation, we are able to refund the deposit or keep the deposit for a future dinner with a digital voucher.
If you cancel up to 48 hours prior to your booking, we will do our best to sell the seats to other guests. In the case that we do manage to successfully sell your seats, we will refund your deposit. If you cancel later than 24 hours to the booking, we will not refund the deposit payment.
Modifications of your booking are subject to availability of seats. Kindly note that due to the limited number of seats available at Taian Table, any modification requested within 4 days prior to the dinner date will only be accepted if the space is available. In case you reduce the number of seats in your booking, it will be handled as a cancellation of seats.
Please understand that we have taken great consideration in our booking and cancellation policy. We source fresh produce and ingredients daily based on the number of bookings to reduce wastage and cost.
Our prices all-inclusive. We do not have any hidden fees or taxes added on the final bill. However, if you enjoyed the experience, food, and service, our team is more than happy to receive a small tip.
We will seat the guests according to their reservations on the counter. We can’t arrange single tables for two people, or private and quiet corners.
We prioritize our seating for guests at our kitchen counter. We have two L-shaped counters, each side accommodating 10 guests. Additionally we have two booth tables each with four seats each. On request, and if available, we are able to book a booth table for four people.
We serve a degustation-style menu. The menu is seasonal and will be updated and changed on a monthly basis. The menu includes of 14 small dishes. The menu size and number of dishes may change according to menu updates, season, and availability.
If you book for more than one month ahead, we are not able confirm the menu for your booking date. You can check back on our website closer to your booking date for the menu, which is updated regularly on the website.
The online version of the menu is for reference only and may change due to seasonality and availability.
Due to seasonality and product availability the online version of the menu is for reference only. The chefs might need to change dishes last minute in order to serve the best available products.
Some dishes might contain raw fish, seafood or meats.
